Visuals have immense power when properly utilized as part of campaigns for social change. But it takes hard work and intentional planning to build a consistent practice of visual storytelling into organizing campaigns, especially when you don’t have skilled photographers or artists on your staff. This workshop will review what makes certain visuals compelling to the public and what makes others fall flat. We’ll also look at how our opponents use these strategies and go over how to take a few small steps to embrace a culture of visual storytelling in your work.
