Hedge fund managers are defunding public K-12 schools, colleges and universities and using their money to convince policymakers to adopt anti-student, anti-worker and anti-education policies. This panel will expose how hedge funds prey on schools and drain their resources. You’ll walk away with the research skills you need to map relationships among hedge funds, schools and communities and to calculate how much money they have siphoned away from students in your area. We will also discuss ways to use local research to support collective bargaining, as well as racial, economic and environmental justice campaigns.
