This workshop is part of a series aimed at providing union leaders, organizers and community allies with a set of best practices to increase their membership and member leaders. The Friedrichs case being heard by the Supreme Court, coupled with the expansion of right-to-work legislation, adds urgency to the need for unions to identify effective internal organizing and member engagement practices. Workshop speakers will discuss successful strategies, including leader identification, member groups aimed at tackling racial justice, and strategies specific to right-to-work and Southern states. Participants will be encouraged to share their internal organizing strategies through this interactive workshop.
