This workshop is part of a series aimed at providing union leaders and organizers and community allies with a set of best practices to increase their membership and member leaders. New member orientations are often the first opportunity unions have to convince new hires to become members and can have a significant and positive impact on their commitment to the union. Effective new member orientation programs are more important than ever for building strong, powerful unions, given the current political environment. This workshop will offer best practices that unions can implement to help ensure long-term commitment from new members.
